Joule Ganking the two melee heroes is one of the hardest tasks in the early game. With her natural high armor stats, and an "Escape for Free" ability, you will almost never be able to punish her for overextending. Her Thunderstrike provides more than enough range to clear minion waves from afar.
1
Glaive Glaives Afterburn is a reliable escape.
2
  No Threat
3
Ringo Granted, [[Ringo]] is a squishy character. With his ability to slow an opponent, along with an ability to greatly increase his move and attack speed makes him one of the hardest heroes to kill.
4
Adagio Adagios ability to self heal, with an AoE slow is a challenging opponent.
4
Petal Petal most likely has a pod of seeds near her turret, always keeping her topped off at full health. Her incredible range makes her hard to gank.
5
Celeste Celestes peculiar ability to place vision wherever she so choses, along with the ability to stun, and clear minions from a great range, makes her incredibly hard to gank.
5
Vox Voxs ability to see where enemies are, along with a ranged dash and a slow, makes him just as hard to gank as [[Celeste]]
6
SAW Although [[SAW]] Spin Up stacks make him a slow victim, his Roadie Run offers reliable escape.
7
  No Threat
8
Skaarf Skaarfs low base defense stats make him quick to take down. With no real escape, a player must be incredibly wary of whats lurking in the nushes.

Ganking Top

Ganking is usually seen as applying pressure to the enemy laner. To do this, you must provide (and make do with) a lethal threat to the opposing hero(or heroes). Simplified, when ganking, you are going for kills. Detonating that mine on the way there to the bush, sitting there with the flare above your head wont just cut it bud. Consistent (or one, if the enemy's smart) will make him fearful of overextending and playing too aggressive. Getting a kill with no losses is an ideal gank.

The Factors Top

There are multiple variables that make up a successful gank:
    Surprise
    Positioning
    Timing
    Co-ordination
    Crowd Control
    Current stats

Surprise, the largest factor to a gank. Without surprise, the enemy can easily retreat to their turret. Granted, you could pull a gank without surprise, but it becomes drastically easier with it. Surprise varies depending on who you have on your team, an Ardan with Gauntlet, a Glaive with afterburn.

Positioning, including your enemy, and the ganking party, is vital. The closer the enemy is to your turret, the higher than chances are of a successful gank. Likewise, the farther away they are, the harder it becomes. Keep in mind, just because their laner is overextende now, doesn't mean he will be forever. Perhaps he knows you're there, and possibly, the enemy team is waiting for you in the bush beside you. Boo.

Timing. The window of time for a gank is short. hesitation and the ill-prepared may indirectly help your enemy. The Jungler and Roam must be flexible enough to be able to come to the lane for a gank.

Co-ordination. Usually, not an issue. All your teammates must be on the same page.

Crowd Control. Your slows, stuns, these make ganking incredibly easier. Without it, its incredbily easy to escape with items and abilities, if you dont have the damage to make up for the lack of CC.

Stats: Are you low on Energy? Health? Perhaps your damage is below par, or your stun is on cooldown. With the short time frame for a gank, you are severely handicapping yourself.

On the Other Side. Top

Expectation.
The opposite of surprise.
If you are passing the center ring of the lane. Expect your enemies to be there. Count on them to kill you. Don't be surprised that the Koshka turret dived to get you when you had a sliver of health. It's better to lose your turret and live, compare to dying, losing the turret anyways, along with your farm, and create a possible 2v3 for the enemy.

Buy a Book of Eulogies, and a mine. Place it on their side of the lane brush, at the very end. You are now able to see them coming from a mile. The Book of Eulogies replaces a good last hitters need for a Health Pot. Look at your map. Have vision on every possible entry place. every possible entry place. Abilities like Twirling Silver and Roadie Run are useful for escaping, always buy tier 1 boots.

Your stats are a huge factor here. Constantly being at high health makes you that much harder to kill. You're practically asking for a gank when you're at 1/4 health.

End Note Top

-You gank to pressure the enemy team, and relieve pressure for yours.

-Think of the Variables

-No CC reduces your chances.
