I'm
Brad Chmielewski, the host of the weekly Vainglory podcast,
Shatter The Vain. I'm also one of the three hosts of the weekly podcast,
The Lane. Each and every week on The Lane we chat about MOBAs, game design, and share tips and things that we love between several MOBA games. I started playing Vainglory right before the North American launch. Catherine was the first hero that I felt like I understood and when played correctly could carry your team to victory. But when I'm playing the lane carry I've always felt solid playing Ringo. It wasn't until a few months ago that I realized the true power of Crystal Power Ringo.
Pros and Cons Top
The pros and cons of playing Crystal Ringo.
PROS
Able to begin pumping out consistent damage
Fantastic energy pool, meaning you can use your abilities more often
Short cooldown on abilities, again allowing you to use them more often.
Incredible damage from Achilles Shot
Unaffected by the armor items
High mobility
CONS
Weak early game
Difficult to last hit due to low weapon power
Being reliant on getting your ultimate off
Easily counter built
Your Build Top
Cooldown, energy regen and burst is what you want with crystal Ringo. Your killer energy regen means that both your Achilles Shot and Twirling Silver will be used more frequently. And you're going to be hitting hard!
With all that crystal power, Ringo's Achilles Shot will hit hard. When maxed, it will usually be in the damage range of a single Tension Bow Ringo attack, or greater. Be sure to kick off fights with your Hellfire Brew. If you're able to pick off the lane carry or at least pop a Reflex Block or Crucible before a fight starts you'll quickly ACE the time and win the fight. Your energy regen and cooldown acceleration means that you should always be using your Twirling Silver, whether you're moving around the map or stutter stepping in a fight. And with that cooldown acceleration you might be able to get off a Hellfire Brew before the fight starts and then again to pick off anyone who is trying to run away.
You're going to want to counter build correctly with crystal Ringo. Build an Aftershock if you see the enemy team trying to build a lot of health. If you started to see them build Aegis you're going to want to swap the Aftershock or Alternating Current for a Broken Myth.
I'm a big fan of having the contraption instead of the clockwork, but ultimately this is your call. Contraption gives you the ability to help with vision and placing mines, incredibly important if there is a Taka on the other team. Plus, having access to a flare will allow you to get those Hellfire Brews off before the fight starts.
If you get to full build and feel like you're lacking damage don't be afraid to sell your boots for another Shatterglass or Eve. The speed boost from your Twirling Silver will often be enough to keep you moving around the map and positioning yourself well.
Finally, with the build be sure to purchase crystal infusions when going to securing objectives like gold mine, a turret or kraken.

Conclusion Top
Crystal Ringo can be incredibly annoying for the enemy team and will become an absolute monster if played in the right hands. Remember to position yourself in the back of the fights and don't be afraid to use your Hellfire Brew to start the fight and pop those Reflex blocks.
