OUTPLAYING WITH TAKA |
Taka is a melee/assassin hero that uses critical strikes, lifesteal, juking and stealth in his skill set. A complex hero that requires a lot of timing to deal and avoid damage. Keep in mind that you'll need to use different approaches and attack patterns to have success in using Taka.
Here below I will explain how to exploit all of Taka's abilities in the game. |
ROBIN THE HOOD |
The goal is to starve the enemy of gold, make then crawl up their lane and force them to share EXP and gold. When playing as Taka, you should always try to steal as many minions in the enemies territory as much as you can, and farm your way back to base. That's why I prioritize getting a speed item early(2
Swift Shooter) so I can have a faster jungle clear and can stack up my heroic perk easily. Remember that Taka receives 75% of his critical damage back as health, with that alone you are most likely to finish farming at full HP, so that means you won't have to buy more potions or teleport back to base. |
MAINTAINING STACKS |
The goal is to go from point A to point B while keeping your stacks on. This is what keeps you alive and kicking! Taka gains 1 ki stack after uses an ability or performs a critical strike! Keeping the stacks up will be a challenge at early game because everyone will immediately rush down to farm, that's why you should get
Kaku as your first skill, this will be used to maintain your stacks while you are roaming. When roaming you should consider leaving the small jungle creep near the shop so you can always have a free stack saver on your trip back. |
STEALTH 101 |
Taka's signature ability. There are lots of ways to use this skill: The main use is for a surprise attack, chase or escape.
Aftershock and
Tension Bow are the items that'll maximize the "art of surprise", move like a Ferrari hit like a truck on the first hit then run back or slash them to bits. Secondary use escape, players should stop using this skill as a free ticket to safety! As soon as you take the first hits you should know if you can or can't lifesteal your way to winning. Remember that players will buy flares and mines when a Taka is in a game. If you are losing the fight, run back to the nearest brush, this'll trick the enemy thinking that you're already invisible making them fire a flare gun, as the flare gun expires then you use Kaku.
Always keep watch on whoever has a flare gun and scout trap.
One very tricky use of Kaku is infiltration and scouting, you'll notice in mid to late game, players will be missing on the mini map, this means they're planning for a gank somewhere in the brushes. If this happens and you have no room for flare guns, ping your team to hide in your own bush and signal them that you're planning to scout the brushes in the area. If you do have the money pop a flare gun and buy mines. Use Kaku move in and wait for it to recharge then do the same thing in the next brushes. If you know exactly where they're at, close in and drop a mine, to have continuous vision in their brush and reveal mines near the area. Be careful and don't go straight in it because they might have their own mines set. |
KAITEN and X-RETSU: More than just flashy moves |
Kaiten. Taka's juking+reposition move, used for catching up to running enemies, much more effective if paired with a
Frostburn, Stop initiating with this skill! It also acts a mini Reflex Block if perfectly timed, Taka doesn't take damage during mid-flight, but burns will still apply. Super effective against Ringo's
Hellfire Brew, Adagio's Verse of Judgment, Joule's
Big Red Button and Petal's
Spontaneous Combustion.
X-Retsu. Taka's ultimate. Used also for juking, reposition, clutch escape and finisher. Has a very low cooldown. After executing the target will suffer a mortal wound that will reduce his healing by a whooping 50% and bleed over the next 4 seconds. Can also be used as a last resort for escape. |
THE TRAIL OF BLOOD |
When being invisible be wary that burns will reveal your position, you'll most likely get from Catherine's shield or Ringo and Adagio's burns. |
