Is skaarf way too OP?

^^ as many have already mentioned, Skarrf is incredibly squishy even in late game. His ult has a huge loading time and he happily announces to the whole Halycon Fold that he's going to cast his ult. Good players will reserve their stuns for exactly when Skarrf tries to cast his ult, and it's pretty easy to block, followed by a very quick takedown because he's not very tanky. If you build Aegis and are smart about keeping your range with Skarrf, he really can't do a lot of damage to you. Let the people with high burst damage, like Koshka, Vox, and Taka handle him in a party.

That's if you can even get to him. He has teammates as well it's more than likely his team will have a person to stun you as well. If this is high rating team then they will for sure have somebody to peel off skarf. Your making it sound like he's gonna let you waltz in and kill him.

Skaarf is more OP as tank. Still tons of damage without CP items esp. vs tanks, slow puddle, buffs allies speed, reduce enemy speed with ult.
It is becoming default in PoA/VG to have Skaarf with Crucible and Fountain in jungle instead of Ardan. They dominate early jungling and still good in late game.

Does anyone have a counter for him? Besides running away? It's kinda ridiculous. Even his auto attack early game is OP. Seems like if he is in range and you don't have boots you can't get away from him.
Are we going to have to wait for an update? Or can someone give a strategy or build to counter Skaarf?
Thanks

Aegis is the best option; it'll help a lot, especially if you hit the shield when he uses his ult.
Your only other real option is to target him at the beginning of each fight & kill him as quickly as possible, however, a good team can prevent this from happening. Catherine would make a good counter, as her shield could block his ult & her stun, if timed, could stop his ult.
Most likely, we'll have to wait for an update.

You mentioned on a different thread that you were playing in the pretty good tier. I must say, skaarf in pretty good is drastically different from skaarf in simply amazing or higher. He's an easy kill in your depiction, but your depiction is extremely rare once you get past the hotness.

This is what I was looking for; I was wondering if tank & attack speed builds had truly become the norm on skaarf because I've seen so many successful ones. Thanks npora!

it is still hard to do in solo q, because most likely your teammates won't understand that you want to go tank as skaarf during hero pick :)

@Bootylicious I just discovered exactly that over the past couple of days and I stand corrected :) That said, I realized that I could tough it out as a Koshka in end-game if I build two Aegis and a Crucible. Not pretty and definitely not a guaranteed takedown if the Skaarf counter-builds, but lasts long enough that I can hopefully smack hard enough to make the Skaarf think twice about torching me in my face.

I'm also seeing a general ineffectiveness of Koshka's ult on Skaarf in the late game, probably because of the tank builds. I've only encountered such builds a number of times and unfortunately I didn't think to inspect their builds more carefully to see exactly what was causing it. Basically the situation is that if I try to ult Skaarf I barely take out a bar of their HP. I'm running CP Koshka and I don't think they had more than a single Aegis, which is sort of odd for me, since my experience with most other heroes is that even with an Aegis I should be able to do than 1 bar of damage. At this point I'm thinking that if I see a Skaarf I'll probably have to adjust my build such that I add a breaking point in there or something, but does anyone have any tips?

I agree I think skaarf is very op and the only way I have found that you can beat him is with Skye. Her passive and b ability make it extremely hard for skaarf to hit his abilitys and she can easily stop his ult with her ult. I have found that when your against Skye as skaarf it is better to build weapon. XD

And here I thought I was getting decent after hanging around in Tier 3 Silver - Tier 5 Bronze for a long time, then picking up Skaarf and steam-rolling 5or7 consecutive games my way into Pretty Good. Guess it's just an OP Hero :(

Well, I find that most Celestes can keep up with my Skaarf. Against any other Hero, His early game power is insane if you only pick up CP items and forego Boots and CD upgrades until you complete a SG&BM. But you need some good teammates that will stop anybody from reaching you, or at least slow them down, if they manage that, then one Fireball is enough to take out half a health bar, GG to the enemy hero if you get off a Goop & a couple Autos.

Taka alone messes up my k/d Ratio, add a Catherine to the mix and I'm probably getting most Deaths in the match.

Anyway some other Heroes you might want to take a look at for being OP are WP Joule and CP Ringo.
So fun to use but sad for the ones trying to take you down, Ringo's A keeps anyone from chasing him down and deals great damage. Joule maybe it is just her Perk but in a casual game it's not hard for her to take down a Catherine & Taka 2vs1. Had a Conraption and constantly planted traps under her and stomped and bombed the two to death, Taka Bursted and Kaku'd 3 times during the skirmish and still couldn't save Catherine and got killed himself.
