This seems like a great build, but it looks too expensive to work. At your "mid late game" you have already spent 10,800 gold. My games often end with the top earner only making 10,000, and in those games it's usually clear who is going to win around the time they earn 9,000.

I would always take the crystal mines unless you have a way of communicating with your teammates so you're on the same page, or you can do something else more useful.

I've played a few more games, and they've just varied wildly. When the opposing team had a Krul player who was the higest level, most kills and fewest deaths.... and also happens to counter my Glaive quite well - it was a complete train wreck. I feel the need to have threre or four preferred options since I can't buy any yet, or they might be taken... I like to take Glaive and stay in the jungle for the most part. He can be pretty tanky, and you can either be aggressive with the rocket axe (afterburn), or use it as an escape. The AoE abilities are nice when you're in a crowd and can't lock the target you want.
