Joule gets countered by many ranged laners, not just Lyra in particular. As for countering Lyra, bursting her down early is normally very effective, as with many other laners. If you get a chance to counter-pick, pick Phinn or Ardan, as they are extremely tanky.

fyi using your abilities first and then using Kaku to escape will still give you broken myth stacks for a short duration. This is because the game still registers you as fighting the enemy so stacks will build up even if you aren't actively doing damage. Hence you can stay near the enemy and then suddenly appear again with full BM stacks.

My advice is to not push the turret too early. Normally if both teams are good, you would want to participate in early jungle fights and see if your team can dominate the enemy tean early. If you are able to get an ace, you can then go and try to take down the first turret. Other than the points that Maximus has said, Vainglory is a lot more than just pure mechanics. Sure, you might be out-farming the enemy laner, but that just means that you are good at last-hitting, which is more of a technical aspect of the game. If you want to be good at the game, you (and your team) have to be great at the game mechanics, as well as being great at game flow and strategy.
