Introduction to Post-Nerf Taka Top

Hello everyone, I'm Horseinapool and I'm currently in Decent-ish skill tier(I understand the game and other MOBAs) In update 1.11 we have Taka's

Kaiten damage lowered. This means he has a little bit of reduced burst with his faster charging A ability. In my opinion after playing with this build I wasn't effected or notice too big of a difference compared to past versions of him. The only time that you will truly feel a little underpowered in early game.

Strategies for Playing 1.11 Taka Top

If you have played Taka before this update, the strategy is the same. The key to being a good

			Taka is continue to move.
1. Don't waste to much time waiting to gank someone in lane by sitting in the mid lane bushes.
2. While in jungle, keep your pathing between minions consistent to show up about the time that they spawn, if you know that you have some time before the first minion you killed will spawn, go up to lane and see if you can get a kill that can give you a gold bonus and help your laner push the minion wave up to do some damage on their turret early.
3. In 1.11, like recent updates of

Taka, I like running around jungle with an

Ironguard Contract roamer. This allows Taka to stay in jungle even if the roamer heads up to lane to offer some support if needed.
4. I haven't tried it yet in this update, but I loved trying out a 2 lane Taka jungle combo. This allows Taka to level quickly by himself, but with

Ironguard Contract being much better since the early days of 1.0+ updates, it seems pointless. Me and my friends are still trying to see if there's a possible way to perfect this strategy.
5. Late game Taka is a true assassin, he goes in, gets a kill, repositions and comes back for the next kill. Typically I lead in with Kaku in order to be undetected, however a good laner will but flares in order to keep and eye on you. With

Aftershock, Kaku should be up by the time you use it to lead in and need to escape.
4. Don't be afraid to use

X-Retsu on the Kraken or Gold/Minion Mine, your cooldowns will be fast enough to not worry about having abilities to use quickly after an objective kill.

The Core Items to these Builds Top

							For

Takas Post-Nerf Builds, we always use three core items in order to help increase crit chance and attack speed, while also lowering cooldowns and adding energy and regen in order to keep him in the fight. These core items are

			Tension Bow,

			Tornado Trigger, and

			Aftershock.

Tension Bow: Tension Bow is a weapon item that adds crit chance, damage, and a chance to have a quick burst of extra damage which can be helpful after the nerf of

			X-Retsu.

Tornado Trigger: By adding another weapon item with crit,

House Kamuha has a higher chance of procing, which will sustain Taka. It will also increase Takas attack speed more than any other item.

Aftershock: I like adding Aftershock to all my builds because it allows Taka the ability to close distances sooner with

			X-Retsu or

Kaiten, and also have an escape/chase option more often with

Kaku. It also allows to remain in jungle for longer due to the increase in energy and slow recharge. It also will be a great pair with

Broken Myth to do more damage to jungle camps/Kraken and also to burst down enemy heroes

The 1.11 Weapon Power Taka Top

Now we get into the different variations of styles for new

Taka builds. Weapon Power is typically the build I use while playing him so I'll start off with it. As usual I start by building my core items in order. Later in the game around the time of the Kraken spawn, you should start building your next items

			Frostburn and

			Breaking Point or

Bonesaw. Finally, we end this build with

			Alternating Current or

			Shatterglass.

Frostburn gives you more crystal power as well as slow enemy's upon the use of your abilities, which you'll be using quite often

			Breaking Point or

Bonesaw are used in order to bring down tankier enemies or those that are building armor a lot quicker. Once you get to this point just check what the enemy is building.

			Alternating Current or

Shatterglass are a choice that changes the build for the end of the game if we make it this far. By now you should know if you could use more straight crystal damage for your abilities or attack speed to help you melt enemies that are tankier. In my opinion I typically build

Shatterglass because I don't like keeping Taka in fights for too long due to his health.

												1.11 Crystal Power Taka Top

Now onto CP Taka. The only change that we have compared to WP is instead of

			Breaking Point or

			Bonesaw we build both

			Shatterglass and

Alternating Current to burst with more crystal damage to

			X-Retsu and

			Kaiten. I like to build

			Shatterglass before

Alternating Current because you typically don't need insane attack speed until you need a bit more WP with this build.
