Would you be able to share the old guide? I remember a guide that had a lot of useful info, and I think this is the one I've been looking for, for quite a while now. Please private message me if you can, thanks.
I'd like to say that not all hybrid builds are bad, though most are. Krul is a good example- bursty Kruls, making use of tension bow and aftershock, are deadly - I defy you to say otherwise (especially when they're ganking your high-and-mighty, ivory tower celeste carry). Also, aftershock + breaking point can turn a Glaive - or, really, any - roamer into a late-game powerhouse, as the nature a roamer makes the most use of both items: their survivability leads to a fully stacked breaking point (i.e. 100% crit chance, +100% crit damage, 300 WP, 40% atk speed - equivanlent to three tyrant's monocles, a sorrowblade, a minion's foot, and two swift shooters), and their lack of damage from their utility/support abilities is remedied by the aftershock. Also, Broken Myth has great synergy with high-base-damage abilities like Spectral Smite, From Hell's Heart, and Bloodsong, all of which are associated with WP-built characters. However, for the purpose of being a carry (which seems to be the only thing your article is concerned with), I will admit that it is almost always better to go all red or all blue.
Hi!
Fantastic guide as a newbie to MOBAs.
Have you ever thought of inserting what heroes may benefit from each build type? I think it would serve newcomers to the moba genre quit well..
Again, thanks for the excellent guide.
Cheers!
Glad to be of help!
I try not to be too explicit in the heroes that benefit from each build type, and instead specify certain roles and traits that match a specific build.
As already stated, the majority of carries follow the standard build(s). Exceptions, heroes that do not follow the standard build, are generally stated in the relevant non-standard builds. This is the best way to clarify and match heroes with a specific build.
There may be other issues newbies may face. When I was a newcomer, I was confused between damage types and built Koshka with WP, although she is intended to build CP. I am not sure if you understand that distinction.

Some clarifications.
Aftershock is more of a sustained damage item than a burst damage item.
Aftershock in a WP build is mostly an inferior Serpant Mask — sustained single-target damage with a bit of utility.
I added the purpose of Breaking Point to the guide. Breaking Point is not an item intended for tanks.
I changed the wording of a lot of my writing to be 'politically correct' and more clear.
Sorry for the late reply, but I did not want my post to be hidden during this hidden comments bug.
