Hi everyone, my name's KwibKwib, and today, I would like to give the new Vainglory players a bit of an insight how to improve their game and generally have more fun with the moba perfected for touch. Let me say, that this guide will not be very specific or aimed at a certain hero, so experienced players may not find it very useful. Feel free to write comments and request hero guides, I will try my best to write more if there is interest for that. Anyway, let's get the show on the road.
Ok, now that you have registered and completed the tutorial, you have a fairly good idea on what this game is about. Still, here are some tips for you:
1) Try to choose a preferred role on the battlefield. Yes, I know that playing only one type of characters may get boring, and no one should force you to main, say, "carry" for example. However, you would probably agree yourself, that learning things step by step is more efficient than trying to do all at once. So try some games, see what is fun and interesting for you (believe me, saving your teammate in the last nanosecond, or annoying the hell of the enemy by constantly stunning them, can feel no less satisfying than doing a triple kill yourself) and try to develop your skills in that direction.
2) Same for the heroes, try learning your starting heroes, play some casual hero rotations, see what you like, and go for it. Deciding to learn a hero just because you like his/her/its skins is totally valid as well, cause it's just a game man, you should have fun with it!))) Try reading some guides (on this site for example). After all, many players have been here a long time before you, and they probably know a thing or two about how to build characters. But of course, don't feel discouraged to experiment and come up with your own builds (although that requires a bit more patience and hero study)
3) Remember, this is a team game, and, most probably you will NOT be able to win a match by yourself,so:
- Don't "fastpick" or "lie" in the hero selection screen. If you absolutely want to play as a specific hero, or don't want to be stuck in a certain role, just skip the match. Believe me, getting into low priority because of that still leaves you with more chances to win in the end, than a horrible team composition.
- Always keep an eye on the minimap. It will allow you to always know where your team is, and plan your actions accordingly. It's not a good idea to suicidally rush in alone, or leave your buddies without help.
- Keep it real. If you are the last man standing, and your team pings you frantically to go and try to steal Kraken, or "get that Celeste, she's so low!" but you don't feel sure you can do it - don't try to do it. Surviving to fight another battle later may be the key to winning the game. Same goes for teamfights. If you are not sure you can participate (f.e. low energy on a hero like Koshka) then just ping so. Your overall goal as a team is to force fights on your conditions.
- Try to find friends and play together, preferably with audio connection. That way you can exchange information much more effectively.
- If you are behaving admirably, and your teammates are being complete jerks, or are outright trolling, just wait for surrender, but don't leave. Remember, if you do, you lose the opportunity to dispense some much needed justice on them in the end of the match!)))
4) Keep calm and carry on. Seriously, no troll or unskilled player is worth your nerve cells, so don't rage. And, by the way, hey, sometimes, if you stay calm and focused, it all works out in the end. I personally had more than a few occasions, when my team still won, despite having picked no support heroes, or all going for the same damage type (weapon/crystal) so just relax. It's very important to give your team the possibility to pick the heroes they are comfortable playing, And sometimes it's a better idea than having a perfectly balanced match up.
Anyway, hope these points were helpful. If you liked what you saw here, leave a comment, let me kwow your f you are interested in some hero builds. I'm a variety player and fairly good with most of them, so I hope I can give you a good advice. Anyway, thanks for reading, see you all later, guys!
