I feel kinda sad for the poor scout traps as they are so unloved. I mean, they have their value but nobody understand them unfortunately. Therefore, I make this guide with hopes that more players will love them. C'mon! Let's mine the fold.
1. Mine your mines!
Your enemies (actually you yourself for that matter) love stealing crystal and gold mines. So... Let's trap them!!
Place 1 or 2
Scout Trap in the bushes nearest to the 2 crystal mines. If you have more to spare, put a few more on the path leading to the crystal mines.
Place 1 or 2 inside the bushes on the left and right of the gold mine. If you have traps to spare, surround your gold miner with scout traps.
Most enemies love the gold mine more than anything so I'm 90% certain there will definitely be action going on there. A tiny trap can change things, trust me. :D I have seen cases where there is only 1 enemy left standing after a team fight but he somehow step on a trap and kaboom!! Down he goes too.
2. Mine the shop!!
It's for sure we will buy things from the secret item shop instead of the one at our base because it's more convenient. And it's kinda not efficient to teleport back just to buy more candies correct? :P Or sometimes enemies want to be smart by planning an ambush at the item shop and catch you when you least expect it. So why not plant some mines and trap them first?
3. Mine all the bushes!!!
Especially the 2 bushes just on top of the gold mine. More often than not enemies like to camp there, so give them a surprise gift of... boom boom boom!!!
When you come out from your base, did you see the first bush on the bottom lane? Surround it with mines, especially if you are losing. Usually when your outer towers are down, enemies love to ambush your team there so they can kill you guys and push into the base. Deter their plan!!!
4. Mine your base... (Or their's)
You do notice it's hardest to down the innermost towers because you usually have to face 2 at once. Touch wood but if these are the only 2 towers you have left, surround the area with mines. Even if the enemy is able to down your outer towers, they usually find the last 2 a pain in the ***. Prolong their agony by planting mines, who knows it can actually turn the tables...
Or if you are overpowering them and have some spare gold, go mine THEIR base and don't let them come out. :D
5. Mine as you are running
Especially when you are running away. If your enemy doesn't have much health left either, it's possible that he could be caught by the mine instead of finishing you off.
If you have that much gold to spare, mine every single square inch of the fold. Who knows but you may even catch an unsuspecting enemy.
Against mine lovers, go step on their mines. It wastes their gold. If they stubbornly want to replace their mines, you know for sure they are definitely missing out on shiny new items.
Some tips
1. See the green circle surrounding the scout trap? If you are placing them side by side, don't let the 2 circles overlap. Or the power of the second mine will be diminished. (You want your enemies to feel the full blast of your mines eh?)
2. Don't stack your mines on top of each other. The damage won't stack.
That's all folks!
With love from Persian, VainGlory number one scout trap lover.
