My team was composed of a Catherine, a Celeste, and me a Glaive. The opponent team had a Taka, a Celeste, and a Joule. It was a pretty even match up. Their Celeste was way better than our Celeste though. Ours keeps on dying in less than 3 seconds of engaging. No defensive items, no nothing. It doesn't help that the Taka keeps targeting her.

Anyways, so we lost and I spoke to our player using Catherine. I asked why didnt he build a contraption or at least put up scout traps or something. You know what he told me? "It's useless. taka keeps disappearing". -.- That's the whole point of the contraption. I cant believe people in tier 5 dont know what a contraption does. Again, just like any "good" support, they rush the WARHORN above everything else.

Good Catherine players are at a premium, I guess. This one game I played earlier, I got insta-locked out of Celeste and Catherine, so I figured I'd try Glaive. Not that it mattered because Celeste had NO clue what to do and Catherine kept wandering off instead of trying to work with the team. GREAT.

But yeah, no Contraption against Taka? Th***... kinda fail.

I'm guessing your support is not a regular on Vaingloryfire...

If I'm playing support against Taka, I usually rush Contraption. It's like Santa gifting you a Taka-counterweapon. :-)

my main is cath . and if i see taka in enemy team i always buy contraption.
if saw or krul i try to buy atlas.
contraption is a good item for cath

I wouldn't play with that guy anymore. I think war horn is unless compared to contraption. But I love it when the enemy support buys it ;)

Ew contraption lol, I normally just buy flares and carry them around instead of rushing contraption. Fountain and crucible are just huge necessities in my opinion. Contraption is definitely a third/ 4th item in my eyes. A good item, just not the best.

Actually, I agree that contraption is very effective against Taka. It really depends if you can guess the escape route of Taka. When I play support, I rush for contraption and then eventually warhorn sometime in the future of the game. I don't disregard warhorn as a decent support item, but it's not something I would pick first.

You can play how you want but as a guy who plays primarily support I know that having vision over the entire map is better than a little extra boost in speed. "Maybe they are in that bush trying to gank us?" **flare** enemy team: "holy **** they found us!"

30% ability regen
200 health
Energy and health regen
Plus mines that do some pretty awesome damage.

I don't know what it is about people not liking warhorn. I main Ardan and 9 times out of ten, I get warhorn with him. It is really good for engage/escape, and can be pretty useful in teamfights. I think I have about a 80% win rate with Ardan, but then again, I play party with my friends, so I rarely get a bad team mate.
