you would hope so, but getting good with a hero can take even more than the astronomical number of matches it takes to get to ranked, and buying two other cheap heroes (ringo, cath) to get to try the first hero's skills in ranked matches quickly is pretty common. i agree people should be good with more than one hero/role - in fact, playing other roles and heroes is integral to learning to defeat them (want to know how to kill Cath? Play her and watch how they melt you, then do the same thing) but not everyone is there. which is why if you are a good player you wait for others to select and pick complementary (because you understand the concept of what it takes to win ranked matches), but if you dont have the goods to be picky, you instalock.

anyway, all of this is devil's advocate. the true instalock morons will never read this, because they are obviously not going to get online and find out how to play before your next match starts.
