I think Phinn is OP but not really compared to Rona or Celeste. The best way to counter Phinn is to build shield defense items and bring the battle away from him. If his teammates are always with him place mines in one of the tribushes near the gold mine and fight there. This would give you an advantage and could potentially grant you an ace. Plus Phinn can't really run away from it because he's too slow. Who did you play as in this game?

If you are not a developer or part of the SEMC staff then there isn't really much you can do besides forming a party with good players or ranking up. As you rank up trolls, unskilled players, and AFKs will start to disappear as people become more serious about winning. For now i suggest you play casual until the compression is over. It's better to not drop down lower and make it harder to climb back up.

i just encountered a not-tanky catherine on my team yesterday that actually carried 1/3 of the game. He/She built fountain of renewal, aftershock, boots, breaking point. The game ended before I could see the final build. In the end the catherine got about 9 kills and only 5 deaths. I was crystal taka and got 10 kills and deaths. Krul fights don't always end in a tie. Like the Skaarf example, a fed Krul can easily destroy another Krul. In Krul fights timing is extremely important to winning or losing. Should you pop your smite now while you're at half life, or wait a bit longer? Should you use you DMR now when the other Krul has 5 stacks on you or save it for when the Breaking Point kicks in? Choosing the appropriate time for your abilities separates the winner and loser.

Even though I love playing with all of the laners(even SAW - crystal though) I enjoy Skaarf the most because he was the one that helped me get to The Hotness(bronze) in Solo Queue. If I could master landing his Spitfire 99% of the time I think I could climb higher.

The developers talked about this before and have said they aren't going to make this a thing because people could exploit it. If you're in a party and about to lose, someone could AFK so you wouldn't drop down in ranks.
