Biography
Im a gamer and tech nerd, and proud of it. ;)
I became passionate about technology and gaming when my mother brought home a Tandy 1000SX for me around 1986.
I started playing with C: and DOS code before GUI's were standardized, when you had to keep the floppy in the drive to play.
The first game I remember playing was "Donald Ducks Playground", I would run home from school for it.
"Space Quest II" is when I really fell in love. The "Space Quest" saga is still my favorite videogame (humor, words, adventure, space).
And, of course I lost my dook when I brought home my first NES and played "Super Mario Bros." and "Elevator Action" for the first time.
Middle school was all MTG. I bought a starter deck during the alpha/beta phase and got a Shivan Dragon. Traded it to some lurker for nothing, I think he gave me all his mana, lol. The jocks at my school used to grief us magic nerds till they figured out they could jack our cards and buy basketball outfits. They became very friendly...
In the end, I had a great collection stashed in moms garage but she threw them away, saying I was too old to play :' -( . So im bitterly done with the game.
Anyway, remember those, card/hobby shops. I play Hearthstone occasionally now.
I think I spent more time playing SSI's "Imperialism" in High School than I did in class. "Final Fantasy VII" was EPIC!
RPG's and TBS were my obsession for a long time. "Civilization II" and "Morrowind" were my life. I spent 500+ hours in "Skyrim".
I got into MOBAs around 2012, started on LoL, then "Infinite Crisis", back to LoL. Now I exclusively play "Vainglory". Thats a big transition for me, it took something special like this game to take me away from my beloved laptop.
Im inspired by SEMC's dedication and genius. The player community is awesome. Very exciting time for gaming, havent been this excited since "Fallout 3" or "Skyrim". There is a bright future for touch gaming.
Im an artist and I think videogames are now the avant-gaurd of audio/visual arts. The "Mona Lisa" is beautiful, yet, the "Halcyon Fold" breathes. The art direction is brilliant.
I think a lot of people are spending a significant amount of time living in this game and its... Its just kool.
The idea that I can sit in my living room and run through the jungle with someone sitting in their living room in China, or New York - well its beautiful, and it makes me feel alive and closer to humanity.
My favorite music is the blues, STNG will always be the best television show ever made, my favorite movie is "Pulp Fiction".
I drink lots of coffee and chain-smoke, but I dont drink or use "hard" drugs.
Led Zepplin is the greatest rock band to ever rock. Pantera's 1991 live performance of "Domination" in Moscow is one of the most amazing things Ive ever seen. I used to freestyle battle rap in a basement in Pioneer Square, close to where Quincy Jones and Ray Charles started playing music.
I love animals and have two amazing cats, Ziggy and Hoagy. They live with my fiance, her daughter and I in North Seattle.
Became dedicated to daily gaming practice playing SCII Zerg 2v2 with my best friend Justin. Looking to rise to Vainglorious and play on a competitive level.
I went to my first PAX this year at the WSCC. Found a pass on the ground.
Id like to be a positive part of the gaming community, have fun, and win. You have to remember when my old arse was a kid, being a gamer put you in a shunned caste. To see today's youth rise above that and inject the culture into the mainstream brings joy to my scarred heart.
Gaming can bring the world together and its beautiful.
