A "Pause" in this kind of game while playing with others online is likely never to happen, yes I understand unexpected situations will come up, this has happened to many skilled players that they've had to leave, but a pause would disrupt the five other people you're playing with. You never know if their pinching time to finish this, and they end up having issues of their own trying to play with the shorter amount of time they now have. Also this could just give trolls another way...

What she says is true, there are! Though we have no word if they'll create the other four, I highly doubt they wouldn't, given this game isn't very old yet and their still working on creating new heroes. Eventually we'll see, it's just a matter of patience! =)

And also, I believe in the upcoming update, there will be some sort of chat system implanted, though I don't think there are any ways other than the "Go" "Avoid" or "OMY" signals right now, unless you use some kind of other site to talk during the game.

I was just in a match with two seemingly good players, one was playing SAW and one was Koshka, I was Petal, when we were not even four minutes into the match the Koshka went afk just to come back a few minutes later, then this continued until I asked to surrender, thinking the Koshka, who was now inactive again, was gone for good and the opposing team had already destroyed two of our turrents, the surrender passed just to have the Koshka player show up again right when the surrender was in...

Ended up working great! Really helped reduce the amount of deaths I had, remembering to check on the opposing team's player's, and specially with teams that have the same character that I am playing.

I just had a game with the same thing, except it was the opposing team who had Teammates (who were overpowering me and my teammates almost the entire game) who went afk as soon as we had infiltrated their base, if they hadn't gone afk we probably would have lost.
