Don't cut yourself short.. only allowing apple users to play is kind of missing out on a giant market I play league religiously and would love to play this game but I can't as I have note3. I'm sorry but I hate Iphones and I know they have lost their popularity over the years I'm confused heavily by the decision to make this game for only I phones.
I have no doubt that, once Apple stops pushing the game so hard through their various advertising channels that the developers will start work (or even just finish off) making it for Android.
iPhones haven't lost popularity per se, their overall sales numbers continue to increase year over year. Just, the smartphone market has grown much faster than those sales, resulting in iOS users making up less of the market overall.
And in case you were wondering, many developers choose iOS because it is far more rewarding financially, as iOS users outspend (both how often and the amount overall) than Android users. And because the iOS ecosystem isn't fragmented by so many pieces of hardware, and so very many versions of the OS, it is much easier to troubleshoot and get software working the way it was intended. This further helps get people to use solid apps and propagate sales. Due to all of this, it makes sense to launch on iOS with plans to get onto Android when there is sufficient funds and the app on iOS is sufficiently developed.
It is an unfortunate state of the market, as overall the extra freedoms afforded by Android seem quite nice.
