What is more important?
Staying in the lane forever.
Getting the gold mine and keeping it.
Letting the enemy get the gold mine and letting them keep it.

I would say none of the three... The lane has its time and the gold mine has its time. It's not smart to rush the gold mine when the enemy is around... but it's also not smart to ignore it. sitting in the lane 24/7 can be fatal as laners who run into the jungle can help secure kills & win team fights. Ignoring the lane is just as fatal because it's a huge source of gold and protection. There's a time & place for everything lol
