Yeah, the mines are simply far too overboard - I mean, they cost 50, and since you can take a stack of 5, you may as well just get an entire inventory. Me and my friends were messing around during the match (well, we lost), trying different playstyles and strategies, but in the end, we found out one thing - the mines are broken.
My suggestion is to either ramp the price up and/or make it so that you can take a single mine per inventory slot. This means that players will have to choose between a single mine or an item that while more expansive, has it's value. I know this will make mines less popular, but every other game all I see is a bunch of mines I run into, and there is no way to avoid or counter them, especially during early game. Since mines deal 250 max damage, I do feel as if it has to be tweaked.
Mines already got nerfed a few patches back. Each mine that hits you subsequently (For like ~10 secs) takes less and less damage. Mines are fine IMO. Also - You can get a contraption and lay mines for daaaays w/o costing 50 for each mine.
Yah, I remember in my early games I would just get a bunch mines as glaive and wait. Level one I could push someone it to the mines and one shot them!
