So I've been AFKing a few games lately due to poor quality teammates, ****ty matchmaking, y'all know the story.
Anyways, what's surprised me is that I always get matched with incredibly good, considerate teammates at 5-minute queue time. Even at times when we lost, it was a well-played game because everyone made an effort. And yes, even the Takas I complain endlessly about plays like a true G.
I feel like these are really like-minded players who enjoy VG and are extremely team-oriented, only to get frustrated by the ****ty matchmaking system and resort to AFKing. It's a damn shame because we have to be 'punished' by the 'rules' in order to be matched with truly decent players.
One could argue that my expectations might be low for these games but I don't think this is so.
You could be on to something, or it could be the sole fact that the five minute wait is some kind of long con to find good teamates. Example: The matchmaking system matches you with less-desirable players due to its adolescence, and you notice immediately ergo "afk"-ing. Then take example that these other "good teammates" follow in suit in not participating in at he's due to teammates that do not follow their expectations. You then get put in the lower que due "afk" till you are teamed up with aforementioned players who are also looking for teamates at their skill tier. Just a running theory. Have a great day!
