So I have been playing Vainglory for quite awhile now, and I have seen my fair share of overpowered and out of the meta champions in my time. I personally love playing the tanky champions but something has been bothering me in these more resent patches. The tanks just are not tanky. They die far faster than they seem they should be able to. I played a game recently as Phin, and he is one of the most tanky champions in the game. I was against a Saw and no matter what I did he just chunked my health and killed me faster than a true tank should. It was late game so I literally had every defensive item in the game, pulse the war-trends. And all I could do was pitiful run away as he took my health away chunk, by chunk, by chunk. He took my health away as fast as he would do to a laner at level 1. Then add in a Sky and my health disappeared like some assassins.

My point is if the defensive items can't defend you why bye them? If a tank doesn't feel like a tank why pick them? While other champions have close to the same CC but can still damage? I just really heat that tanks don't feel like tanks. The defensive items don't do enough. Tanks should be so easily shredded, they should be able to survive mass amounts of damage and not die so quickly.

The enemies probably have no defense if they can shred you that quickly. If that's the case, then the best counter is to shred them first by buying some burst damage if needed. Also, stunning them helps so your allies can burst them down while they are stunned. You should play it safe and not be too aggressive and have vision everywhere so they don't ambush you and always stick with your allies.
