What sounds are you trying to disable? If you are trying to play with no sound at all just use your phones mute button on the side or turn down the volume. If you want to just disable Vainglory background music so you can play your own music, you just have to start playing a song and it will automatically detect you are playing music and disable the background music while still letting you hear sounds from pings, basic attacks, etc. Unfortunately if you only want to play with the sound effects and no music whatsoever you are out of luck until they add that in a future update. (Although I don't know why anyone would want to play without some kind of music)

Edit: There is also a glitch in the 1.4 update (phones) that doesn't let you access Vainglory's settings in the settings section of your iPhone. SEMC said the apologize for the inconvenience and it will be fixed in the next update.
