Iam new to this game and have been trying to master Catherene. So, is it advisable to buy flare gun at the beginning and rush to the fountain or first rush to the fountain then build flare gun. Or should i just completely omit the flare gun and go for scout traps instead?
And sorry for the noob question, iam a noob

I don't play captain much, but I think generally, it's almost always best to rush fountain and get scout traps or flares. When contraption is built depends more on the enemy team imo. If you're facing a stealth hero (Taka, Kestrel, Flicker) then you want it earlier. Same if the enemy team is doing lots of ganks. Otherwise, I save it for like 3rd or 4th item.
