So for two matches everything was fine, we won both of them but barely managed to beat the second one due to a race of our team vs a kraken in destroying turrets and the vain crystal, but next match we get absolutely steam rolled by a team that starts ganking is hard in the start of the match, so if there is any way to make the match making system better I would be happy to have that in the game. Even though this Is sort of off topic I was just wondering if I could join any guilds out there, either way I still want to know if there is a better way to be matched with players of equal skill

They're trying to improve the matchmaking system as hard as they possibly can, every update has brought new features to improve it. They won't say what they are so that players don't abuse those updates, but the matchmaking system is getting better and better.
