AFK temporarily...seems an issue

Hi, understand the frustration about AFK. Appreciate the glory aspects and how you're attempting to modify behavior.

HOWEVER, there are times when an emergency of just a few minutes comes up.

I had this occur for the very first time. I was slaughtering the other side, we were clearly at an advantage, I had unleashed the Kraken on my on and my wife called. I had to take the call. In the first minute of the call, I died. I figured...OK, I have some time. Within a few mins, I was back active. I rushed over to the other side and helped clear the bases, take down the other players and finished off the vain crystal. Must have played at least 3 more minutes.

We finished. My first win of the day. One of my only half dozen wins entirely. MY FIRST EVER AFK...for ONLY A FEW MINUTES.

And. I. GOT. NO. GLORY. AT. ALL.

I got a warning about AFK and not doing it again.

THIS IS WRONG. Matter of fact, I have to say...I think the penalizing, and the lack of any glory points IS A PENALTY...the VERY FIRST AFK situation is Wrong. Why? MOST of them are newbies. MOST newbies don't even know to FIND a forum, much less will read all this stuff. Cryptic stuff, like "ELO". I still have no idea what ELO really is, how you get it or whether you want it, btw.

SO. You need to provide an explanation and a warning the first time...but I don't think you should penalize OR not award points until the second time.

AND...I think the AFK penalty, or lack of reward, should reset after a dozen games or something. IE, if I now play a dozen games without ever being AFK, and then I AFK, I think it should be like the "first time" I'm proposing in this post.

Seriously, sometimes batteries die and you have to find the cord. Sometimes the phone rings. Sometimes your boss walks in. ;-) If you guys can determine I was AFK...then you should have determined that I got back into the game and continued playing. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED AN AFK. Maybe I fainted from all the excitement.

Seriously. Please re-think this approach slightly. THANKS!

You drive a fair point, and I really don't think I can argue with it.
Nor am I going to try.
But I do believe that the devs, I think, are working on a different way to counter afk players. Give it time! But understand, all players have unexpected situations come up, and we all have to afk at some point. But the devs do this to try and encourage someone to not do it again, it ruins experience for players who really do try to have fun, and since they can't tell when it's on purpose or accidental, it ends up like this. Though I do agree, and I hope soon they will make it so if you afk then come back you'd only be warned. Not have glory deducted.

ELO is basically ur rating...the higher it is (usually) the better u are and harder ur games are. Winning makes it go up and losing makes it go down...usually a 5 point spread up or down...(winning +5 losing -5)
