Played my first ranked match where someone quit early on. We decided to keep playing (and almost won)but I was wondering, does it matter? Will we still lose the same amount of rank, or gain more if we actually win? Does the deserter gain rank if we win? I've had to put up with a lot of losses due to horrible teammates, but losing a significant amount of rank simply because we're short one player seems a bit unfair.

Sadly I can't think of a plausible solution because I'm not a coder and have no idea how these things work, but an answer to my questions would be nice. I'm just wondering/venting

The deserter has to sit in deserter queue (you can't play for 30 min I think) if you win it counts as a loss for him. He loses more rank as well. (I have afked myself so that is why I know this)
