I like to play with when my team is more geared toward pushing the enemy team and playing offensively. Flares to find the enemy and scout traps to cover retreats if we over extend. I am asking this question in reference to close games. In lopsided games the Kraken will push any team over the top and end the slaughter quickly, but that only speeds up the inevitable. In games that are close and go long (over 20 minutes), I've often seen the Kraken give a boost to the team on the defense against the Kraken. Your personal performance within that particular game is irrelevant in regards to the skill tier improvement. The only thing that affects the skill tiers is wins and losses. The AMOUNT of forward or backward movement is determined by the combined skill rankings of all players involved in the match. I think these are good ideas, though when it comes to recommended item builds, mine can change from game to game based on my opponents. The second suggestion is a good one since more practice means less games wasted trying builds and hurting teammates while in solo Q. I have won games 2v3 and lost...a game 3v2.
